IRISH AIR LINE PILOTS’ ASSOCIATION SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDE AER LINGUS PILOTS’ PAY REVIEW

Aer Lingus members of the Irish Air Line Pilots’ Association (IALPA) have voted to accept the finding of the Pilot’s Pay Tribunal 2017 and associated documents.

This Tribunal, chaired by Mr Gerry Durcan SC, was convened in January 2017 and, after considering very comprehensive submissions on behalf of Aer Lingus and IALPA’s members, issued it’s final report on the 22nd November 2017.

The final report, together with an associated document agreed by all parties involved was put to a secret ballot of Aer Lingus members and was successfully passed at midday today.

Captain Evan Cullen, President of IALPA, stated “This successful result follows over a year of intensive negotiations between IALPA (Aer Lingus) Company Council and Aer Lingus’ management.

“The implementation of this agreement will more than address the financial losses our members have felt since the economic crisis and will reward them for the hard work they put in to make sure Aer Lingus has become the success it is today.

“This agreement between Aer Lingus and their pilot body will only strengthen their position in the aviation world, especially as they look to expand their horizons over the next few years.”

Note to editors:

IALPA was established in 1946 to regulate the relations between employees and employers, the Association has grown to represent over 1,200 members.
